An entirely needless remake supposedly targeted at women respects them the least

The New Indian Express

Let down by clunky dialogue, a surprisingly uninspired score from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and an absence of enough drama to liven up the pace, We Are Family is a staggeringly dull film.

Yet, the pathos here is produced not from moments, but from performances alone: a stunning Kajol’s in particular

Hindustan Times

It’s all so contrived that you despair of this film having a single genuine emotion

Indian Express

The film does have its heartwarming moments, but not enough

This is the kind of film where all the moms and stepmoms of the world are assured to cry buckets. Watch it for some ‘familiar’ entertainment

IndiaTimes

A regressive, boring film strictly for soap-lovers

At the end of two hours, debut director Sidharth Malhotra's film - which is intended to be a sob story - did leave the audience in tears. Of boredom.

Designed to be a family entertainer and that it definitely is

Trouble is there is little in the film that could take your attention away from the surface-level inducements

Perfect family film with a good mix of emotions and humour

BollywoodHungama

Kajol and Kareena provide heart and soul to a predictable script

Times of India

If the intent of the movie was to churn our emotions and bring us closer to our loved ones, it certainly succeeds
