Dabangg 2 Movie Review

Dabangg 2 coasts on the formidable shoulders of Chulbul Pandey and our affection for the original installment. But the plot is tired and is merely a hanger for the familiar notes of high-speed fights and dialogue-baazi.

Salman Khan holds together this slipshod film which feels like a pale imitation of Dabangg.

Looks all too familiar and the novelty wears off soon.

Salman's “don’t take me seriously, just have fun” takes us into a zone where all of Dabangg 2 and its settings and characters become comic-book.

Rehashes Dabangg itself, finding comfort in the formula rather than using it as a tool to entertain.

Dabanng 2 is not pure cinema but bhai-porn for the guys who work overtime at the gym. It’s futile to dissect the non-existing screenplay.

The film itself is better than the original, but it has absolutely nothing new to offer, and nothing to remember, quote or take away from the theatre.

Dabangg 2 is always about Salman Khan revelling in top form and is basically the same film as the first one.

Dabangg 2 has no imagination or clarity, the writing is insipid and the story is merely assembled bits to justify a tame and predictable conclusion.

Salman’s performance as Chulbul is infallible and absolutely charming. Despite the obvious lack of a thrilling plot, the legend of Chulbul Panday is etched out beautifully by the director.

Dabangg 2 does manage to do is to give that audience the good time that it seeks, but there’s nothing new or unpredictable about the film.

Dabanng 2 is actually a better film than the first, tighter, brighter and sharper.

Dabangg 2 encashes two brands completely - Salman Khan and Dabangg itself. The film works more for the actor than for the film itself.

The screenplay is devoid of any fresh ideas, the one-liners are rather laboured and the heroic acts that Chulbul Pandey pulls off with an eye firmly on the gallery are all too predictable.

It's riotous, outrageous, wacky, ambitious, absolutely madcap, transports you to an altogether different world.
