As long as Joker is confined to Paglapur, it is so inspired and one-of-a-kind that I began to hope that we were in for that rarest of treats – a completely visionary mainstream comedy. But once Agastya steps outside and decides to bring progress to Paglapur – by drawing the media’s attention to crop circles and aliens in the village – the film goes kaput

The Hindu

It is staggeringly inept

Hindustan Times

This is no enjoyable circus. Far from it

It doesn’t deliver. No surprises, no novelty, no freshness here

This is a film that needed to be fable-like for it to work, but it turns out not even to be a farce

Indian Express

This is a kids’ film and must be considered as one. Once you accept this, at a breezy 105 minutes, some sense can be made of this Joker

Mumbai Mirror

The film makes a complete fool of itself. However it fails to make you laugh

Times of India

The excellent idea of aliens rescuing an abandoned geographical spot and its people expands into a travesty.

There isn't a single line in Kunder's film that actually works, leaving us with a film that, while commendably brisk in a 100-minute package, refuses to get going at all

Rediff

Once you let go of the initial inhibition and let its intoxication take effect, the film leaves you in splits

Filmfare

The problem, however, is that all of these carefully constructed spoofs fall as flat as a failed souffle

Firstpost

It's a totally off-the-wall entertainer powered by corny jokes, OTT filmi characters and tongue-in-cheek sequences

Times of India

What Joker delivers in the garbled guise of the genre plumbs such depths of vapidity that it stands no chance of ever coming up for air

A plausible half decent plot, which too gets wasted by lunatic antics and buffoonery

nowrunning

A joke of a film. Disaster!
